We automate hydropower plants and modernise existing controls. PLC technology, visualisation and control cabinets are combined with operator interfaces, remote monitoring and remote maintenance via VPN, from design to commissioning.

Our automation work covers control cabinets, PLC programming, visualisation and electrical installation. We use SIMATIC Manager or TIA Portal and connect the plant to higher-level control systems. Existing operating equipment and interfaces form the starting point for a controls retrofit.
If mechanical repairs are also required, we coordinate the control systems with the overhaul and refurbishment of your hydropower plant.
The following examples give you an overview of our scope of services.

A control panel with an operator display was designed, manufactured and installed for a customer. PLC components and electrical power equipment provide reliable operation of an installation rated at approximately 550 kW.

Our project engineers develop visualisation and operating concepts for your complete hydropower installation. Operators gain a clear overview, while logged conditions such as water levels and alarms support assessment of the installation. Detailed information on individual generating units and other plant components can also be retrieved and displayed.

An internet connection can enable remote operation of your installation from anywhere in the world. Our specialists also offer monitoring, helping to detect faults early and prevent equipment damage.

Until the 1990s, Schmaleicher Mühle processed grain into flour. Milling machines on four floors, connected by transmission drives, were powered by a 1924 Francis turbine producing 21 kW of mechanical power at a head of 2.8 m. Since milling ceased, the site has been used exclusively to generate electricity…
